Good For Our Environment

Not only does seaweed keep our bodies healthy, it also helps keep our precious oceans clean simply by growing. Its natural sequestration process remediates excess carbon and nitrogen in the water, which helps reduce ocean acidification. That in turn helps shellfish such as oysters and mussels - quintessential Maine crops - to grow to maturity, and ensures the equilibrium of marine ecosystems. As a farmed crop it’s a poster child for sustainability, because it needs no fresh water, land or fertilizer to grow. By using regenerative aquaculture practices we are helping to change the world’s food model to one that is gentler on the planet and ensures the health of our oceans.
